Amenities and Policies

Two houses, side by side, 210 and 212 West 2nd Street in Leadville, one and a half blocks from downtown shops and restaurants, and a quick drive to Safeway. Both the charming Alley Cottage and larger Neighbor House offer decks and interesting views of Leadville’s architecture and the mountains.

5 minutes away: the award winning paved Mineral Belt – a twelve mile biking, cross country skiing, walking trail. Abundant outdoor recreation all within 20 minutes: Turquoise Lake, Twin Lakes and Forebay, the Arkansas River, jeep trails, hiking, snow shoeing, and cross country ski trailheads.

The NEIGHBOR HOUSE.

  • Sleeps seven.
  • Two full beds in two bedrooms, a twin in the study and a sleeper sofa for two in the living room.
  • Two bathrooms, one bath with shower and the other has a slipper tub with handheld shower/rinsing wand.
  • Full kitchen with all appliances.
  • Mudroom for ski or bike storage.
  • Satellite TVs with Dish Net 200, Sirius Radio programming, DVD players, wireless high speed Internet.
  • New washer and dryer are in the larger bathroom.
  • Fully furnished and stocked with linens and all you need for meal prep and serving.
  • Deck with view to the west and the Continental Divide.

    • This house has just been completely renovated with wiring, plumbing, heating, wood floors, wood doors and sheet rock. The décor is a splendid retro 1950s living room, kitchen and dining area. Study with twin bed is comfy cowboy and Indian decorated. Two charming bedrooms: one has a continental feel and the other old Leadville style. Throughout the house: original artwork, vintage items and collectibles.
    Rents start at a low $115/night (with a two-night minimum) – or - $105/night for 5 nights or more.

    The ALLEY COTTAGE.

  • Sleeps 6.
  • Fully furnished and stocked.
  • New wiring, plumbing, and heating and pine wood floors.
  • A mountain cabin feel with a lot of knotty pine walls.
  • Gas log fireplace, an attached garage (door is 7’ tall 10’ wide,) new GE heavy duty washer/dryer, and dishwasher.
  • One bedroom has a double bed; the second bedroom/study has two twins and a sleeper sofa for two in the living room.
  • Cable to two TVs with DVD player and broadband high speed Internet.

    • (This cottage has an interesting history - 5 cribs from when this was the red light district in Leadville. The Gentlemen would approach from the alley.)
    $105/night, two-night minimum –or- $95/night for 5 plus nights.

    Sitting side by side, BOTH HOUSES sleep 13 and would rent as a pair for $210/night with two-night minimum – or - $190/night for 5 plus nights.

    Policies:

    Deposit: 50% down - credit card, cert check or money order. Balance on arrival. There is a 1.9% county lodging tax on short term (less than 30 days) rental, 4% Lake County sales tax and 2.9% Colorado state sales tax for a total of 8.8% tax on the rental rate. Refunds on cancellation 100% of deposit if more than 15 days prior to rental dates and one half of the deposit if 15 days or less prior to reserved dates. There will be a $25 processing fee per house on all cancellations. Late arrivals and early departures will be charged for the full reserved rental period. We don’t believe in raising prices for high season. Longer term rentals and rates available.

    We love our pets. Bring your pet with prior arrangement. A credit card deposit will be required and there is an additional $15 per/animal cleaning charge. (some exceptions)
